We inspire, protect and restore dreams through our insurance products, exceptional service from our agency owners and employees, community investment and strategic partnerships to address societal challenges.<\/p>\n

American Family Insurance demonstrates our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by constantly evolving to meet customer, employee, and community needs and preferences. In late 2018 we officially launched our Abilities Business Resource Group (BRG). Our nine BRGs each provide employees who have shared characteristics, life experiences, interests, and backgrounds a forum to directly impact our Inclusive Excellence Strategy and enhance our inclusive culture while also assisting with relevant business decisions and practices. They strengthen our Enterprise by uncovering innovative opportunities to support efforts like; attracting diverse talent, exceeding customer expectations, positively impacting our communities and enhancing the overall employee experience.<\/p>\n

The Abilities BRG has a specific focus on individuals with differing abilities as well as their allies, parents, and caretakers. Members are afforded opportunities to build cultural awareness, develop key leadership skills, network across our entire Enterprise and contribute to related business decisions and practices to enhance disability inclusion. Since its inception, the Abilities BRG has made a tremendous and widespread impact. During 2019\u2019s National Disability Employment Awareness month, the group sponsored outstanding guest speakers like disability advocate and entrepreneur Jason Corning of Three Monkeys Communication and provided various speed learning and mentoring channels for individuals to discuss unique experiences and learnings around disability inclusion.\u00a0 Earlier this year, they also worked with internal technology support teams to ensure closed captioning is provided on all of our webinar-based Enterprise-wide meetings to best support those with varying technological needs. \u201cWe are excited to continue growth of the group and provide additional resources and forums for people with diverse abilities,\u201d Katie Choinoski \u2013 Abilities BRG Co-Lead.<\/p>\n
